This weeks heavy rains and subsequent flooding have potentially wreaked havoc on fisheries in the south.
With more still to come fisheries are bracing themselves for the potential of fish losses. With the worst still to hit parts of the Thames and Severn the problem could still get worse. We are even seeing reports of lakes bursting banks.
Forum user and Perfection groundbaits boss Alan Cooper reports: "Dinton has suffered very badly, something like 15 fish were rescued from the drainage ditches and paths around the lake, many fish seem to have gone into the adjacent lakes, some maybe into the river lodden?
the were about 25 syndicate members and other helpers with waders and nets, all doing their best to save these fish, electro gear was also being used. With more rain overnight and more forecast, it could be some time before it all settles down and we find out what's gone missing."
Fingers crossed losses won't be severe. With this summers low jet stream mooted to have caused ceaseless bands of rain battering the UK, and more predicted for wednesday, keep us posted if you hear any news on fishery problems.
