Solar Bank Sticks - 14 March 2007 - Back

Solar Bank Sticks

Not a new or an exotic item but a very important one and having been a user for a good few years a quick look at how they are bearing up.

For the last 5 or so years what's held my rods up have been 4 Solar 12" stainless sticks and they've done so admirably. Have never been keen on pods so the sticks have had to go into the hardest of grounds and take a lot of abuse over the years. Over a good few hundred nights largely nestled amoungst the stony grounds of the Yateley area they've sustained a few scatches but that's about it really. Everythings still tight and they're as straight as a die.

They are a pretty standard bankstick featuring a knurled thumscrew and tommy bar. Inner fit is precise which gives a more solid feeling to a setup and the tip features two angular grooves which help wind them into hard soil and get a good grip.

All in all a product I cannot fault. They're not exciting, they're not revolutionary but at the end of the day they do the job and last. 9/10
