Thieves strike again at Horton, Cemex address security problems - 14 March 2007 - Back

The problems relating to tackle thieves in the horton area are well documented. A recent spate of thefts has angered local anglers.

Anybody who's been fishing for a length of time will probably recognise stories of tackle theft issues from around the Horton/Wraysbury area. It seems a recent spate has really brought things to a head though.

Cemex under new management finally appear to be tackling this issue more proactively though and are investigating improving the security situation, especially at weak spots around the complex.

Whilst it is a near impossible task to totally secure a sprawling complex hopefully these will prove some deterrent. In the meantime we can only hope an angry angler gets a grip on one of the little toerags and inserts a stainless bankstick, preferably chunky, somewhere painful.

In the meaintime and sadly as with all things nowadays it's probably worth taking personal measures to safeguard your kit. Insurance and identification marking is not a bad starting point!!!
