More sad news from Tolpits which has lost the Box
In the words of George Loughlin, former Tolpits regular:
"I have just heard from some pals on Tolpits that they are 99.9% certain that the latest fish to die on this big fish circuit water was the fish known as "The Box". It was at quite an advanced state of necrosis when discovered but all indications point to that fish. This was a really unique two tone mirror ( usually around 34lb) which fought like a demon when hooked. I had the pleasure of catching her last year (pictured) when she looked immaculate and indeed she has been out several times this year with no apparent distress.
As I reported last year in Carp Talk, the same brown coloured algae has put in appearance over there and fingers crossed the people in charge take a more pro-active approach this year to what may be another spate of uneccessary big fish deaths."
Sad news especially as Tol has lost a number of pukka old fish in the last few years including the Big Common, Arfur and the Bullet Hole Common
