How the popular MCF range weight up for long term general purpose marker float use.
I have used MCF markers for 6 or 7 years and so far have found them to be robust and reliable.
Made from a tough plastic foam they retain buoyancy over time and swivel quality has presented no problems. Being not the most careful of anglers when it comes to caring for my stuff in the field conventional marker floats are a little bit too often damaged for my liking. Especially those with delicate dart type vanes.
The MCF range comes in six main variants although it is the 3 one piece moulded models I am looking at here, the thunderbird (general purpose), lighthouse (for distance and low light conditions, and stealth (for lighter applications).
The marker floats are a strong orange colour which stands out well under variable light conditions and all varieties cast well.
All in all I have used individual floats heavily over 2 or 3 years so cannot fault their robustness. Strongly recommended. Available from £4 to £5.
