As Carp anglers we spend vast amounts of time chasing the fish of our dreams and in pursuit of these fish we want to know everything about the fish we are targeting. The history of the fish we chase becomes a great interest to me and many of the anglers I meet. Thanks to Chris Ball we have photos of many of the Match Lake fish in the seventies and early eighties.
The Match Lake was a lake of great importance in Carp fishing. The water became a great learning water to many of the top carp boys today. A huge amount of anglers since the late seventies cut their teeth on this water. The original stocking of fish did well and even better in other waters they were moved to, the Copse, Pads and the Car Park Lake.
In the previous article the history of the Car Park Lake, there were photos of fish caught in the Match in the early eighties that were moved to become the Car Park giants. The remainder of the photos given to us by Chris, of Match Lake fish, we have decided to see if we can identify. We have numbered all of the photos below and if you have any views on which fish these might be please let us know on the Forum post entitled "Match Lake Fish?". The photos show Chris, Jan Wenzcka and Kenny Hodder.
